DAY 2 : Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Sightseeing (including Breakfast)

n the morning you will visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels
where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for a half-day city tour.
Highlights include the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Chinatown,
the Binh Tay Market and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.

DAY 3 : Ho Chi Minh - My Tho - Cai Be on Jahan cruise (including Breakfast / Dinner)

Breakfast at hotel.

Transfer to Renaissance Riverside hotel to join with Jahan cruise.
Bid farewell to the hustle and bustle of Saigon as we travel 70 kilometers south by land to My Tho to embark your boutique Ship.
We will be served a refreshing welcome drink as the ship steadily glides along the Mekong.
We will bathe in the fading sunset on the balcony followed by a briefing at the lounge.

Later, a welcome dinner awaits us.
When approaching Cai Be, the Ship drops anchor to moor midstream where the river is several kilometers wide.

DAY 4 : Cai Be - Sa Dec - Chau Doc ( including Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner )

The day - in fact everyday - starts with an invigorating Tai Chi lesson on the sun deck, just as the sun begins its gentle glow.
Coffee and tea awaits the early bird. The day’s tour starts with a visit to Cai Be’s boisterous and colorful floating market on board
a traditional sampan (a flat bottomed traditional Vietnamese wooden boat).
During the languid ride, discover breathtaking landscapes along the river and quaff the rustic life on the Mekong Delta.
The cruise will halt intermittently to allow us to observe how rice paste, rice cookies and coconut candies are made,
along with the Longan fruit drying process.

After touring the canals,
we head to an ancient house surrounded by fruit orchards before heading to the Ship for lunch.
In the afternoon, we cruise to Sa Dec.
Upon arrival, we embark a traditional sampan to tour Binh Thanh Island and its manmade canals.
Here, every villager is involved in the process of growing and processing water hyacinths into natural fiber floor mats and rattan baskets.
We then board the Ship for a tranquil evening cruise towards Chau Doc.

DAY 5 : Chau Doc (Border Crossing) - Phnom Penh (including Breakfast /Lunch / Dinner)

Welcome to the fish sanctuary of Vietnam.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the Dining Hall or in the quiet sanctuary of your balcony.
Brace yourself for a short excursion in Chau Doc, a pleasant town near the Cambodian border with sizeable Chinese,
Kinh and Khmer communities.

We will also visit the colorful local market near an ancient temple.
This is followed by a trip to the quay, where we will be feted to a boat excursion to the floating villages and rustic catfish farms
where we will learn exciting facts about the breeding of Basa fish in the Mekong Delta.

Then, it is back to the ship for a lunch.
By mid-afternoon, the cruise liner will make its way to the border for Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.
It is an opportune time to relax on board, sharpen your culinary skills with our hands-on cooking classes or
tour the ship with our impeccable Cruise Director. Or, better yet, do all three.
"The Highway Blues" beckons as we float into a state of mild bliss caused by the hypnotic murmur of the ship’s engine.

After hours of cruising, we will feel the rush of entering into a new country and to embrace new adventures.

Note: Due to high water in the Mekong Delta between July and December the following program applies:
This morning, you will start your excursion on a local boat (sampan) and discover the border town of Tan Chau.
Firstly, the journey takes you to the "evergreen" islands where you will be thrilled to learn the life of the locals.
The inhabitants of these islands live on houses poised on high stilts - a centuries-old tradition in this part of the Mekong Delta.

We stop to visit a fish farm located in the Tan Chau canal - this farm consists of floating houses
and the villagers make their living by cultivating fish.
You continue by boat to Tan Chau pier, disembark here and stroll around this colorful local market with lots of regional products.
You return to the cruise Ship after your market visit.

Visas: For the downstream cruise from Cambodia to Vietnam,
guests are required to have Vietnam visa before embarkation.
Vietnam visa should be valid from or earlier. For the upstream cruise from Vietnam to Cambodia,
Heritage Line will help to arrange Cambodia visa onboard upon border arrival.
Visa fee of 27 USD/person will be added to client’s invoice onboard.





DAY 6 : PHNON PENH (including Breakfast /Lunch / Dinner)

Phnom Penh was once the Paris of the East. Despite its rapid development,
it has retained a lot of its rustic charm and elegance.

After breakfast, we will be captivated by a comprehensive lecture on Cambodia’s modern history.
This will be followed by a city tour of this dynamic,
historical capital city of Cambodia which has managed to preserve huge slices of its French colonial allure.

Sightseeing in the morning will include visiting the dazzling white and gold edifice of the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda,
and witnessing exceptionally beautiful Khmer craft at the National Museum.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the Genocide Museum and the Killing Field in town.
Be prepared to be heart wrenched by this stark reminder of the genocide that transpired during Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge regime.

We go back to the Ship after our museum visit.
Take a rest on your cabin balcony or the lounge and get prepared for an exciting evening event.
The evening starts with a variety of cocktails served on the sun deck.
Take a seat and enjoy the following Apsara dance performance.
Experience the brilliance and richness of this culture, the soothing sounds of traditional music,
the calming scent of incense sticks and a barbeque on the sun deck.
It is indeed a truly marvellous experience, dining in the open with the stars and the moon as our companions.

DAY 7 : PHNOM PENH - Kampong Cham(including Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

We will depart before the break of dawn from Phnom Penh with a stop at the little known Chong Koh silk weaving village.
We will then return to the Ship and will cruise past the Mekong’s tranquil villages,
exhilirating river life and sun-hardened fishermen on their shift boats.

We will tour the rural Angkor Ban village where time stood still.
We are transported back a hundred years into an era unattached by modernity.
The houses here are truly rustic, made by hand and without any concrete.
But most of all, we feel overwhelmed by the unbridled warmth of the villagers.
Travelers can take part in the daily activities of the villagers to experience village life first hand.

Then, we are back to the Ship to cruise towards Kampong Cham.

Before the sun peeks over the horizon,
the cruiser sets sail towards Kampong Chhnang (we leave Phnom Penh after midnight) and the Tonle River
- an amazingly narrow river - which glides through leafy swaths of the Southeast Asian jungle.
We are greeted by cacophonous children who waive enthusiastically early in the morning
when they bring their livestock for a bath in the meandering Tonle River.

Then we approach Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia’s "waterworld" where everything is on stilts balanced on water rich soil
- it’s an awesome sight whilst practising Tai Chi on the deck.
Here we take a motorboat excursion to the landing,
followed by a short bus trip to see the Khmer-styled pottery at the Aundaung Russey village.

Then, it is back to the river for an adventurous motorboat excursion to the wetlands, floating houses and fish farms in the region.
We then return to the ship for lunch whilst cruising the narrow and meandering Tonle River.

We will cruise towards Prek K'dam where we will take a walk through the silversmith village of Koh Chen
where the entire community of villagers are involved in making various silver items for sale.

Back on board, the Ship sails back towards Phnom Penh again
and will moor for overnight midstream near Phnom Penh.

DAY 8 :Kampong Cham - Wat Hanchey (including Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

We will wake up in the small hours of the morning,
truly energized to embark on a land journey to the pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey.
Travelers either take a motor-taxi or climb 291 steps to the top.
Located at the top of a hill overlooking the river, it offers one of the most breath-taking views in Cambodia.
Built in the 8th century, this ancient structure, together with a bigger and newer addition underscores the superb architecture of
the Chenla Empire which predates the mighty Angkor temple complex.
We even get to engage in light banter with some of the monks in the area.

We will return to the Ship to witness a blessing ceremony performed by orange-clad local monks.
When the tide allows, we will enjoy a surprise sojourn in our zodiacs (inflatable boats)
to the nearby bank to swim in the tea coloured Mekong River, an experience that will, no doubt,
dominate dinner conversations in the weeks to come.

We will then cruise towards Kampong Cham to visit Wat Nokor, a wat built within the ruins of an ancient temple which holds a timeless story.

On the way back to the Ship, we will visit an orphanage.
Along the way, we will have to maneuver a 2-kilometer rickety bamboo bridge.
Our sense of balance lies in the balance!

DAY 10 : Tonle Sap - Siem Reap (including Breakfast )

This great lake dominates Cambodia and is the largest freshwater lake in Asia with abundant birdlife.
This lake is so wide that one can not see its shores from the middle of the lake.
Enjoy the stillness of the water and the quiet tranquility on the way to Siem Reap.
The water level varies a great deal according to the time of the year and the amount of rainfall recorded.
Thus, minor changes to the itinerary may occur during different seasons.
Our Heritage Line cruise liner comes to an end as we reach this city of the fabled Angkor temple complex.
We bid farewell to the cruise as our journey comes to a close.
But the memories and the friendships made on board linger on for a lot longer.
We will cross the Tonle Lake at dawn and at 9.00h,
we will disembark at the Siem Reap Port for onward coach transfer to the drop off point in town. Including breakfast.

On arrival, we transfer to boat pier to take long tail boat trip to Champasak to visit the temple ruins of Wat Phu,
dated from the 5th and 6th centuries, predating Angkor Wat by over 200 years.
Originally built as a shrine to Shiva, the temple is thought to have been linked to Angkor by a 100 km road marked with stones.

DAY 4 : Don Daeng - Si Phan Done - Don Khone ( including Breakfast)

After breakfast,
cross Mekong by ferry to mainland and drive to Nakasang and take short boat trip to Ban Khone,
giving this area a lovely name "Si Phan Done - means Four thousand islands".

Along the way,
stop to visit the Liphi waterfalls and spend rest of the day to explore the fisherman village of Ban Don Khone,
where the old French colonial buildings and its retrace the old colonial past with seeing the first Lao railway with its locomotive.

Take a full-day boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to explore local villages at Ban Xiengmene and Ban Chan.

Continue with the royal temple at Wat Longkhoun,
which once belonged to the royal family and nearby Sackarine Caves and continue cruising Pak Ou cave.

Explore caves and cross Mekong River at Ban Ou for lunch at a local restaurant.
Return by road to Luang Prabang, stopping en route at Ban Xang Hai,
where the residents create a unique rice wine called lao lao and continue to typical Lao villages at Ban Xangkhong and Ban Xienglek,

Arrive at Chiang Khong and border formalities and Chiang Khong Immigration,
then take a ferry across the Mekong River to Huay Xay.
(Ferry ticket is included, and our guide will see you off here at Chiang Khong on Thai side)

Meet at boat pier and transfer to Luang Say Cruise.
Luang Say boat leaves slow boat pier at 9 a.m. for cruising down the Mekong River to Luang Say Lodge in Pakbeng.

One stop is made en route to Pakbeng to observe a rural life along the Mekong River at Ban Houei Phalam; a Kamu village.

A buffet lunch is served on board.

The boat arrives at Luang Say Lodge before sunset for an overnight stay
and a dinner is served on the terrace overlooking the Mekong River.


DAY 8 : Luang Prabang (including Breakfast / Lunch )

A continental breakfast is served on the terrace from 7 a.m.
The boat leaves Luang Say Lodge at 8 a.m. and the first stop is at Ban Baw village to observe the process of making traditional rice alcohol.

A buffet lunch is served on board.

The boat stops again opposite the mouth of the Nam Ou River to visit Pak Ou caves
where there are two caves 'Tham Ting' and 'Tham Phoum' and thousands of Buddha images.

The boat arrives in Luang Prabang at Wat Xieng Thong pier (a UNESCO world heritage city) before sunset.
Meet at boat pier then transfer to the hotel.

DAY 9 : Luang Prabang - Sightseeing (including Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Your full day city tour begins after breakfast, with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum,
which hosts a range of interesting artifacts.

We then enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city's oldest temple and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong
with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.

Today, we also visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham.
We visit the Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos' many ethnic cultures
before we head out of town to see the weaving villages of Ban Xiengkhong and Ban Xienglek.

We then return to the city for a visit to Wat Mai.
We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred,
gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River.

There, the tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market,
where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
Note: the Royal Palace Museum is closed on Tuesdays.

DAY 10 : City tour - Khuang Si fall (including Breakfast )

First we visit the morning Phousi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin,
local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay,
a Hmong village, Ban Ou a Laoloum village and Ban Thapene, a Khmu village.

This then takes us to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. We then return to Luang Prabang.

DAY 11 : Luang Prabang - Siem Reap (including Breakfast )

Your day is at leisure until transferring to airport for flight to Siem Reap.

DAY 12 : Siem Reap - Angkor Complex (including Breakfast )

Enter Angkor Thom via the Southern Gate and explore the ancient city.
Then proceed to visit the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace.

In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Angkor Wat.
Explore its extraordinary architecture for an opportunity to experience a spectacular sunset over the monuments.

DAY 13 : Siem Reap - Angkor Complex (including Breakfast )

After breakfast proceed to the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva - Banteay Srei - and the Banteay Samre temple.

On the way back, view the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities,
the Lake of Srah Srang and the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which remains in the clutches of the enveloping jungle.

Visit the Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevada, and Thommanon temples before returning to hotel.

you will visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for a half-day city tour.
Highlights include the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Chinatown,
the Binh Tay Market and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.

Take an early morning drive to Cai Be to enjoy a day out in the lush surroundings of the Mekong Delta.

Board the Cai Be Princess boat and start your adventure through this riparian region.
Cruise to the Cai Be area and visit a historic house.

Stop en route to visit some thriving cottage industries and observe how rice paper and rice cakes are made.
Lunch will be served at Le Longanier Restaurant, a lovely property set amidst a verdant tropical garden.

Continue your cruise along the river and immerse yourself in the countryside scenery.
Bikes are available on the boat for those wishing to embark on further exploration.

Disembark and transfer to a waiting car for the drive back to Ho Chi Minh.

Take a morning boat cruise on the peaceful Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and
then take a car to the poetic mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc & Khai Dinh.

In the afternoon, proceed to visit the Imperial Citadel and the Dong Ba Market.
The spectacular Citadel (which was built in accordance to strict principles of geomancy) houses a series of palaces,

Visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang which houses the world's finest collection of Cham artworks before proceeding to Hoi An.

In the afternoon, take a walking tour to explore the World Heritage Site.
Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall,
the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market.

Take a peaceful boat trip on the Thu Bon River and afterwards enjoy free time to further explore the old town.
